LAPD detectives Martin Riggs, a volatile, suicidal widower, and Roger Murtaugh, a seasoned family man nearing retirement, are reluctantly partnered. Initially clashing, their dynamic transforms into a vital alliance as they investigate the apparent suicide of a young woman connected to a massive, military-led heroin smuggling ring.
As the partners dig deeper, they uncover that the drug operation is run by corrupt ex-Special Forces soldiers, including the ruthless enforcer Mr. Joshua. Surviving numerous attacks, the duo unifies to rescue Murtaugh’s kidnapped daughter, ultimately taking down the cartel and forging a lasting, brotherly bond.
