Did you know that Campbellford's local treasure, the Aron Theatre Co-op, is part of a community of independent cinemas across Canada? The Aron belongs to the Network of Independent Canadian Exhibitors (NICE) an organization representing cinema spaces across Canada, from Victoria to Whitehorse to Montreal. In February, NICE highlighted the Aron as its “member of the month” so we thought we would reciprocate by reminding our audiences about our membership in this important organization.

In fact, you may already recognize NICE from the ad we've been running at the Aron, which reflects on the magic of cinema from the smell of popcorn to the pleasure of watching our favourite films or soon-to-be favourites together in a shared community experience. This celebrates not only our theatre, but independent cinemas across Canada. 

NICE launched in 2018, to help cinemas of all size support each other and recognize the ways in which these theatres contribute to their local communities, whether it be by their economic or cultural impact, and their ability to enrich community by offering venues for local arts and culture experiences. The Aron Theatre Co-op is a great example of that, not only bringing Hollywood and other movies but offering our community an amazing space for musical talent from bands on tour to comedy to our annual holiday show. 

In Campbellford, we are so fortunate to have this theatre in our town. How can you support it and by extension the community of independent theatres across Canada?
